Taiwan-based MSI's latest MP3 player, Mega Stick 1, which was launched internationally this week, will be available in India in the second week of September.

The product, which comes with 128MB memory with an option of 256MB, will be priced at around Rs 7,000 for channels, informed Narendra Dubey, director, (Sales), Cyberstar, the vendors most active distributor in the country.

With features including USB portable drive, FM Radio and recorder, digital voice recorder, along with MP3 and WMA digital music player, Mega Stick 1 is targeted mainly at music lovers and users seeking innovative products. It uses AAA alkaline batteries and can give users 12 to 14 hours of non-stop entertainment at one go, claimed Dubey.

The product will compete with similar offerings from Creative, especially its LX 100 and LX 200 MP3 player, which was recently launched.

To push the product, Cyberstar is also looking at IT and consumer retail options, besides the traditional channels, stated Dubey. "Since this device is multi-functional and has a lot of value addition, it is more of a consumer product. Hence, we intend to tap the retail market to reach out to maximum number of users." However, the retails plans are yet to be finalized, he added.

Cyberstar, since its recent appointment by MSI, is playing a more active role than the other distributor, Priya, in promoting the vendor's products. MSI is more known for its motherboard brand.
