Cyberstar to increase branch presence

Following the appointment of Rajeev Chaudhari as its marketing and sales director, the distributor of Adaptec, Creative, Hitachi, Maxtor, MSI, and Netgear, Cyberstar Infocom, is expanding its operations.

Cyberstar is increasing its branch presence from three (Mumbai, Delhi, & Bangalore) to eight, thus opening offices in five more towns, starting with Ahmedabad and Kochi.

"We want to achieve this target calendar 2004 end," said Raj Rathi, managing director, Cyberstar International (S) Pte Ltd, in an email interview to CRN.

"We want to be one of the top 10 distributors in the country and will accomplish this through portfolio and market expansion," Rathi said. Cyberstar may tie up with a peripherals vendor in coming months, he hinted.

Meanwhile, Cyberstar has also appointed Anil Pruthi as general manager to be based in Delhi to focus on the northern region.
