ECS Appoints Cyberstar Exclusive Disty for Elite

Elitegroup Computer Systems has appointed Cyberstar Infocom as its exclusive distributor to promote its products in India. The whole range of Elite brand motherboards will be available from this month onwards at all Cyberstar branch locations in India.

Raj Rathi, MD, Cyberstar, said, "We are happy to associate with Elite on an exclusive basis for the India market. We have already done test marketing of these products in a limited way and the response from the customers was extremely positive."

On its channel strategy, he said, "ECS has given us these products on an exclusive basis and we in turn are looking out for committed 'Exclusive Elite Reseller Partners' in all cities so that we do not create over-competition among the channel partners."

In 1994, ECS became the first public listed motherboard company in Taiwan. It has been supplying products to MNCs like Lenovo (IBM), HP, NEC, Acer, etc. over the last few years.

Talking about its products, Kevin Hsue, section manager, ECS Taiwan, said, "We have different range of products at different price points. The product range which will be sold through Cyberstar will be the same quality that we supply to all our MNC customers. We are putting Elite brand at stake and we will prove to our Indian customers that we offer only the best quality products in India under our brand. ECS Brand Division is a fully independent division within ECS with its own marketing, product planning, product management, and R&D teams. ECS is ranked No. 2 among Lenovo's MB suppliers at the moment."

The vendor has the largest motherboard factory in single site in the world at Shenzhen, China which is ISO 14000 approved. In terms of quantity, ECS is right now the No. 2 motherboard manufacturer in the world, the company said.

ECS products come with 24-month warranty. The vendor has already tied up with third-party warranty service provider for this.
