Hitachi Selects Cyberstar, Offers Ultrastar 10K300

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has announced that Cyberstar will now be distributing its Ultrastar 10K300 to channel customers in India.

The 300GB enterprise hard drive can satisfy the needs of mission-critical storage applications such as online transaction processing, data analysis and media streaming, the company said.

Hitachi GST, said, "There is a significant demand for high-capacity enterprise drives in India and we are pleased to be supporting these customers with the Ultrastar 10K300. The hard drive's capacity and performance characteristics will enable system builders to bring more powerful and innovative storage products to market."

The 10K300 is built on a proven drive design with demonstrated enterprise class reliability and product quality. The 3.5-inch, 10K RPM drives use Fluid Dynamic Bearing motors, to provide a low acoustic rating and improved data integrity. They are available in capacities ranging from 36GB to 300GB and feature Ultra 320 SCSI and 2Gb/s Fibre Channel interfaces, the company stated.

With 11 regional offices in India, Cyberstar is also planning to open four more branches in the next two quarters.
